Demonstration Opportunities

Demonstrations are where the “rubber meets the road” and are the culmination of a project that goes from a vision to reality.

To show how a particular application will be utilized in a cable television system is a powerful tool when demonstrating broadband technologies. These demonstrations place new technology in a setting familiar to all of us, regardless if whether we are engineers, accountants, or students.

CableLabs Conferences

CableLabs conferences showcase new technologies in a venue with higher value and less congestion than industry trade shows. These settings offer opportunities for our members (exclusively cable operators) to “see and feel” technologies in development or that are about to be released to the market. Participation is limited to enhance the ability for one-on-one demonstrations with CableLabs members.

CableNET®

CableNET is a major exhibit that focuses on services that may be delivered to consumers via cable’s hybrid fiber/coax (HFC) telecommunications networks. Proposals are accepted for applications, hardware and software that already are either in technology or market trial, or are no more than six months to one year away from deployment. Although the basic demonstration platform is HFC (hybrid fiber and coaxial), CableLabs is interested in wireless solutions or hybrid approaches, as well as other imaginative solutions. For more information, please visit the CableNET Web site.
